The detergent industry uses cellulose powders to immobilise enzymes and for special products, such as carpet and upholstery cleaners. Enzymes are produced in a liquid form. To add them to washing powders, they need to be applied to an insoluble base. For this purpose, there are used short cellulose fibers. In case of formulations for carpets, upholstery and other surfaces, there are used longer cellulose fibers , as a dirt absorber.
